Most of you remember that
we’ve been planning a major fall trip every two years: Canada 1998,
England 2000, Italy 2002, Nordic 2004, and Ireland 2006. The last couple of
these were with Grand Circle Travel.
For 2008, we thought it
about time we go west right here in the USA. We’d like to
take the America’s Majestic National Parks trip that Grand Circle put
together. Many of you may have received their brochure describing it, but in
any case, we’ll give you a summary later in this flyer.
The trip we’re talking
about is now $2870 (leaving from Philly, Aug. 30 thru Sept. 27, 2007).
Because we’ll be traveling in 2008, it may go up a few hundred dollars – or
not at all. Grand Circle Travel does not yet have their 2008 Majestic National
Parks schedule and until they do (probably sometime early this summer) any
deposit you make is completely refundable. When they do post their schedule,
you’ll be informed and can then make a final decision as to have your deposit
stay or be refunded.
If you are planning on
the trip, or are at least thinking of it, why not put the required $350 deposit down now
to hold your place in our group. Also, even though other Grand Circle
travelers are very friendly and interesting, if we can be 40 strong, we’ll be
our own group with our own buses and will have flexibility with the schedules,
etc. In either case, we’ll meet the other travelers along our way. [As is our
custom, we plan on visiting a Masonic Lodge somewhere during our travels.
Non-Masons are usually invited to tour the building during the daytime and we
plan some activity for them on the evening of our meeting.]
Just call
1-877-220-2540, ask for Dee-Dee Lang (or Chris Eason), give her our
group number GG82939, and just tell her you want to put the COMPLETELY REFUNDABLE deposit on
the “America’s Majestic National Parks” trip.
The trip is 17 days (16
nights) with stays right in Bryce
Canyon and Yellowstone
National Parks. 16 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 4 dinners. 8 included
tours (Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone,
Grand Teton, Salt Lake
City, Bryce, North Rim Grand Canyon,
Antelope Canyon Cruise, and Monument
Valley. Yellowstone and
Grand Canyon are World Heritage sites. If schedule is right we
would attend a rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir; travel an historic
route through Durango aboard the Narrow Gauge Railroad; welcome and
farewell dinners; choose 1, 2 or 3 optional tours from $50 to $70. (Marty may
have $10 coupons to give to everyone toward an optional
tour.)
